<br />
It started out with <a href="http://sarawiger.blogspot.com/2012/04/cakes.html">good intentions</a>! The cake elements were looking to be the best cake I had ever made!<br />
<br />
I got the frosting to be the perfect color.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HZuEsldvsvI/T4nll7ih3zI/AAAAAAAABC4/ZlJNEX7d5p8/s1600/DSC_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HZuEsldvsvI/T4nll7ih3zI/AAAAAAAABC4/ZlJNEX7d5p8/s320/DSC_0005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Both layers were perfectly flat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TE9LVluSswQ/T4nloaNsWjI/AAAAAAAABDA/twX2A4zxLsI/s1600/DSC_0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TE9LVluSswQ/T4nloaNsWjI/AAAAAAAABDA/twX2A4zxLsI/s320/DSC_0006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5cARlHUB8AQ/T4nlqzpH0wI/AAAAAAAABDI/HHfWjFXrPE8/s1600/DSC_0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5cARlHUB8AQ/T4nlqzpH0wI/AAAAAAAABDI/HHfWjFXrPE8/s200/DSC_0007.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>Then my frosting tip kept getting clogged, even though I had the smoothest frosting I have ever made. And my fondant pieces started breaking. (It is blue fondant painted with blue Wilton gel thinned with almond extract.) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--GP1eV-ExZM/T4nltIn0GYI/AAAAAAAABDQ/JspxfbMNnoA/s1600/DSC_0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="264" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--GP1eV-ExZM/T4nltIn0GYI/AAAAAAAABDQ/JspxfbMNnoA/s400/DSC_0008.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Ok. I can live with how it looks. Let's get to decorating! The plan was to have my three blue birds "flying" by using cake wires. I couldn't get the wires to stay still. They ended up tearing a hole in my cake! So I improvised, and just put the blue bird in the slingshot (which is where the black bird was supposed to go, but the slingshot was too small!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--gtoHRVWX7w/T4nlvvYIE6I/AAAAAAAABDY/zC8KA6tTmtc/s1600/DSC_0009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--gtoHRVWX7w/T4nlvvYIE6I/AAAAAAAABDY/zC8KA6tTmtc/s320/DSC_0009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uqf4M2l8Jyo/T4nlx1oPAaI/AAAAAAAABDg/s1d9q2VTqrQ/s1600/DSC_0010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uqf4M2l8Jyo/T4nlx1oPAaI/AAAAAAAABDg/s1d9q2VTqrQ/s320/DSC_0010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JWSzuYIA4O4/T4nl0F1XzKI/AAAAAAAABDo/vzSNaUXza3Y/s1600/DSC_0011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JWSzuYIA4O4/T4nl0F1XzKI/AAAAAAAABDo/vzSNaUXza3Y/s320/DSC_0011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5ocvgsW9pps/T4nl2vz1aCI/AAAAAAAABDw/sFCK9P9Jw1I/s1600/DSC_0012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5ocvgsW9pps/T4nl2vz1aCI/AAAAAAAABDw/sFCK9P9Jw1I/s320/DSC_0012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GZYwI66HJuE/T4nl42iHNqI/AAAAAAAABD4/sMAvQUFPL8I/s1600/DSC_0014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GZYwI66HJuE/T4nl42iHNqI/AAAAAAAABD4/sMAvQUFPL8I/s320/DSC_0014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Cute, right? I was very happy with my changes I had to make...then I looked over and my slingshot melted! It was a wafer cookie covered in tootsie roll. It ended up looking like a mess of nastiness covered in brown, sticky water.<br />
<br />
Plus another huge hole in the cake.<br />
<br />
Not to fret, Leif did get a birthday cake...just not the spectacular one I had in mind. :) Here's the final bird arrangement we ended up with: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CriENTnIJW8/T4nnNXiOjpI/AAAAAAAABEA/k4Nz-iPkvcA/s1600/DSC_0024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CriENTnIJW8/T4nnNXiOjpI/AAAAAAAABEA/k4Nz-iPkvcA/s320/DSC_0024.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-88443667525354306412012-04-13T08:00:00.000-05:002012-04-13T08:00:13.190-05:00Cakes!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div> Leify's birthday was on Wednesday. I of course visited his class with delicious treats! Bomb Bird cupcakes. What else?!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8CD5WqAc-L4/T4YzsQ28waI/AAAAAAAABBQ/xI_HBPuA-9Q/s1600/373985_10150809866552774_539447773_11571351_1139079534_a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8CD5WqAc-L4/T4YzsQ28waI/AAAAAAAABBQ/xI_HBPuA-9Q/s1600/373985_10150809866552774_539447773_11571351_1139079534_a.jpg" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> These were chocolate peanut butter cupcakes with chocolate peanut butter frosting. I am the WORST person to get a recipe from because I don't measure, but I'll try...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><br />
<div style="color: black; padding-left: 20px;"><span class="ingredient">2 cups cake flour</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1 cup sugar</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1 teaspoon baking soda</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1 teaspoon salt</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1/3 cup cocoa powder</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1/2 cup vegetable oil</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1 cup buttermilk</span></div><div style="color: black; padding-left: 20px;"><span class="ingredient">1 teaspoon vanilla </span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1 teaspoon vinegar</span></div><div style="color: black; padding-left: 20px;"></div><div style="color: black; padding-left: 20px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I made two batches. Then I mixed together equal parts peanut butter and powdered sugar. (completely eyeballed--maybe 1 cup of each?) I used my largest cookie disher (2 TBsp?) and put that much cupcake batter into each cupcake cup. Then I used my smallest disher (1 tsp?) and put a scoop of the peanut butter mixture into the center of each cup.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I baked at 325 in my convection oven for about 20 minutes until they were firm on top. Some of the cakes had peanut butter still showing at the top, but don't worry. The frosting covered it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The frosting was, roughly:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="color: black; padding-left: 20px;"><span class="ingredient">1 cup peanut butter</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">rest of the box of powdered sugar (2 1/2-3 cups probably)</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">pinch of salt</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1/3-1/2 cup of cocoa powder</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1-2 tsp vanilla</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">1/2 can evaporated milk</span><br />
<span class="ingredient">black wilton food coloring gel (enough to get black color--remember it will darken as it dries) </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I mixed this in my stand mixture. I again used my smallest disher and put a scoop on top of each cake. Then I spread it out. This frosting set up quickly, so work fast.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For the faces, I used the wilton eyes you can buy at the regular grocery store. Then I used piping frostings to hand-draw the face details. For the "wick" I wanted to use black licorice, but the birthday boy vetoed that! So, I took mini Tootsie rolls (used 2 for all 24 cakes). I warmed them in my hands for a minute, rolled them flat, and then used a pizza cutter to cut strips. I then put yellow on the tips.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9P8A3z0ntfw/T4YztrYeiHI/AAAAAAAABBo/bmR_vDWCH-g/s1600/576257_10150807807247774_539447773_11565310_759458028_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9P8A3z0ntfw/T4YztrYeiHI/AAAAAAAABBo/bmR_vDWCH-g/s320/576257_10150807807247774_539447773_11565310_759458028_n.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I wasn't able to taste my own creation, but they were all gone by the time I left the school that day!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The birthday party cake is still in the works. However, here is a sneak preview! First, I give you my first ever gum paste creations: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8akGWt-4h6g/T4YzsjRpc_I/AAAAAAAABBY/vFniKBzGOxY/s1600/553334_10150794251847774_539447773_11503678_191970851_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8akGWt-4h6g/T4YzsjRpc_I/AAAAAAAABBY/vFniKBzGOxY/s320/553334_10150794251847774_539447773_11503678_191970851_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I got the gum paste and the colors at Walmart in the Wilton aisle. It was really easy to work with. It's like playdough for adults!<br />
<br />
Next is the pig side of the cake. I used Keebler fudge-covered wafers and some icing to hold them together (with toothpick supports and toothpicks out the bottom to hold it into the cake.) This is currently sitting in the freezer. I hope it will hold up to Texas heat and humidity! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D9TOXdwYiTA/T4YztQFwbOI/AAAAAAAABBg/996CVmOQByI/s1600/563215_10150808646437774_539447773_11567664_1097019924_a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D9TOXdwYiTA/T4YztQFwbOI/AAAAAAAABBg/996CVmOQByI/s1600/563215_10150808646437774_539447773_11567664_1097019924_a.jpg" /></a></div>Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-70964780366171689662012-04-12T08:00:00.001-05:002012-04-12T08:00:02.694-05:00More Angry Birds...Of Course!The party is getting closer! Here are a few more things I made for the upcoming bash!<br />
<br />
I should've started with this, here is the invitation I made. Leif's favorite bird with the black bomb bird. He wanted the bird to be on the front of the invitation. Relying on my SU! background, I dug out my punches, ribbon, paper, and dimentionals and got to work! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gBHjwqCHRvk/T4Yv-m7KR8I/AAAAAAAABBA/USaJxyPBxIk/s1600/521989_10150778093602774_539447773_11445928_803213139_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gBHjwqCHRvk/T4Yv-m7KR8I/AAAAAAAABBA/USaJxyPBxIk/s320/521989_10150778093602774_539447773_11445928_803213139_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The pieces are pretty easy to figure out. If you need help, just let me know. The eyebrows were free-handed, as was, basically, the "wick." For the font, it was a free download from the internet. I love the variety of fonts you can find!<br />
<br />
Another paper project I made was a pinata! No stores had the Angry Birds pinata for sale around here, and I don't like to buy online because I buy too much! So, I made one! Now, don't fret. I didn't start completely from scratch! Let me show you the pinata first, and then I'll tell you how I made it:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LuJ9ep5xmXk/T4Yv-5kWGTI/AAAAAAAABBI/bKOv0Gn7HUM/s1600/559023_10150778421457774_539447773_11447091_1120172838_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LuJ9ep5xmXk/T4Yv-5kWGTI/AAAAAAAABBI/bKOv0Gn7HUM/s320/559023_10150778421457774_539447773_11447091_1120172838_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>This grand king was once a baseball pinata! Just like last year's party (and the<a href="http://sarawiger.blogspot.com/2010/08/mario-luigi-birthday-party.html"> year before actually</a>!) I started with a plain, round pinata you can find at any store that sells party goods. Get one on sale that's out of season! It's going to be covered anyway.<br />
<br />
Then I used about half a roll of green crepe paper. Yes, the same kind you use for streamers for decorating your house. I cut a strip of that which was big enough to go around the pinata (start at the bottom or you'll have a seam in the middle like I do!) Fold that crepe paper in half "hot dog" style (landscape.) Then, along the folded edge, cut up 3/4 of the way about every 1/8th inch along the length of the paper. If you fold the crepe paper up so it's a few layers thick, you will have to make fewer cuts and it will take less time.<br />
<br />
Simply then take white glue, put glue on the pinata (I tried putting it on the paper...things got sticky very quickly!) Push the crepe paper so it lies flat. If you don't like the look of it, simply cover it up with another layer.<br />
<br />
Layer after layer, building up the pinata, you will soon have a bright green ball! Go to my very useful resource <a href="http://www.thepartyanimal-blog.org/angry-birds-balloons-free-templates/">here</a>, print off only the king pig, and viola! You have a pinata perfect for smashing! Oh, I used a pizza box from our recycling bin to glue the ears and crown on to make them stick up.<br />
<br />
We don't have a strong tree in our yard that will hold a pinata, so I made this a pull string pinata. You can find a lot of blogs out there which explain how to do this. Since I didn't take step-by-step pictures, it would probably be easiest if you looked it up how to do it. Enjoy!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-61006528249666622252012-04-11T14:00:00.000-05:002012-04-11T20:24:35.266-05:00Getting Back Into Things...Wow. I miss blogging! I miss creating! So much has changed in my life since I was blogging every day with my crafty creations.<br />
<br />
I started working as a substitute teacher, I became ill and had to go to many different doctors, we moved back to the US, and I started volunteering like a mad woman!<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, my latex allergy has increased to the point where I can no longer use Stampin' Up! stamps. It was a very sad day for me indeed when I went to build my pretty new stamps and couldn't get past opening the box without itching like crazy and having problems breathing. I sorted through my stamps and kept a precious few for my daughter to enjoy, but I had to sell/give away the rest. I hope that the new recipients are enjoying them and are finding their own joy in their creativity!<br />
<br />
People have been saying I should show off what I have been doing, so here I go again. I hope you enjoy!<br />
<br />
My son turned 6 today! I will start off this blog with showing you all the things I have prepped for his party this weekend.<br />
<br />
Leify is obsessed with Angry Birds. He takes my phone and Kindle at any chance I let him, and he will play until the battery dies! What better thing to play on his birthday?!?<br />
<br />
There are loads of sites out there, but <a href="http://www.thepartyanimal-blog.org/angry-birds-balloons-free-templates/">this one was the BEST</a>! I used the templates found on the site a couple times. Just be sure to keep good track of which bird is which when you are cutting them out! The first project I used them on were for these balls:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lc3f5JKttnk/T4Ys1fW0HqI/AAAAAAAABAI/0MuP3rvXGfs/s1600/417223_10150752156407774_539447773_11350300_742720572_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lc3f5JKttnk/T4Ys1fW0HqI/AAAAAAAABAI/0MuP3rvXGfs/s320/417223_10150752156407774_539447773_11350300_742720572_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
These will turn into a game for the party! I'm going to build a contraption out of boxes and the three pig balls will be on the boxes. The party guests will throw the bird balls at the pigs, trying to knock them down. The balls were found at Walmart in the ball section. They were 97 cents I believe. I used double-sided sticky tape to adhere the faces on. Simple, and so cute!<br />
<br />
The next project I free-handed. I used posterboard I bought at the dollar store in various colors and a permanent marker to draw the birds and pigs. These will be used as wall decorations around the house. The middle pig is a bit wonky, but I think the rest turned out so cute! (Sorry for the poor picture quality. I used my phone.)<br />

I hope you enjoyed my venture back into blogging. I will try to remember to do this more often. I can't make any promises though. :)Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-6549400752857034352010-12-08T01:00:00.000-06:002010-12-08T01:00:06.010-06:00Happy Birthday, Grandma!My mom-in-law saw the <a href="http://sarawiger.blogspot.com/2010/09/hat-for-anna.html">hat </a>I made my daughter, and asked for one herself, in her favorite team's colors. She is a HUGE OSU Beaver fan (maybe HUGE isn't a big enough word!!) Lucky for me, she asked for this hat right around Halloween, so I was able to get orange yarn at a really good price!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-X3pRs0vI/AAAAAAAAAbA/YB4OSyGhLok/s1600/024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-X3pRs0vI/AAAAAAAAAbA/YB4OSyGhLok/s320/024.JPG" width="180" /></a></div><br />
The hat directions can be found through my previous blog post (link above). The scarf pattern can be found here. I used a smaller hook and yarn, so my scarf is rather small. However, mom-in-law runs VERY warm, so the scarf is for decoration and team support rather than warmth. :)<br />
<br />
Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Rose!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-44116931961712693062010-11-18T01:00:00.001-06:002010-11-18T01:00:03.547-06:00Unique TreeThe holidays this year are going to be a little odd for our family! We have put in a special call to Santa, and he is going to come to our house on the night of the 4th! The dates ran up on me a bit, what with convention and the craft fair, and I didn't realize that I should have already started the advent calendar and things!<br />
<br />
<br />
So, our family made our Christmas tree this weekend! We took four shades of green Stampin' Up! cardstock and traced our hands and then cut them out. The kids then drew scenes on some of the hands and decorated with snowflake stickers I had in my stash.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EOYy_3BI/AAAAAAAAAak/APhx0hnwFpU/s1600/018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EOYy_3BI/AAAAAAAAAak/APhx0hnwFpU/s320/018.JPG" width="214" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EPjULXKI/AAAAAAAAAao/tMPrmcKpcoc/s1600/019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EPjULXKI/AAAAAAAAAao/tMPrmcKpcoc/s320/019.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EQ60y2fI/AAAAAAAAAas/nkuzL28bis4/s1600/020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EQ60y2fI/AAAAAAAAAas/nkuzL28bis4/s320/020.JPG" width="214" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-ETzyWU6I/AAAAAAAAAa0/Q89e_mk0sFk/s1600/022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-ETzyWU6I/AAAAAAAAAa0/Q89e_mk0sFk/s320/022.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
We then put all the hands up onto this post that's in the middle of our main room in the house.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-ESWXDmVI/AAAAAAAAAaw/_8nvlz19Gw4/s1600/021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-ESWXDmVI/AAAAAAAAAaw/_8nvlz19Gw4/s320/021.JPG" width="214" /></a></div>From the top of the post, I then wrapped the string from the Stampin' Up! advent calendar (only on sale through the end of the month...<a href="mailto:sarawiger@googlemail.com">contact me</a> to buy before they are gone!) Then I hung the boxes down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EVikdWEI/AAAAAAAAAa8/0y4S6uSoK8U/s1600/034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EVikdWEI/AAAAAAAAAa8/0y4S6uSoK8U/s320/034.JPG" width="180" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EU87bTFI/AAAAAAAAAa4/VIYnxCdwOJQ/s1600/033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TN-EU87bTFI/AAAAAAAAAa4/VIYnxCdwOJQ/s320/033.JPG" width="180" /></a></div>I love how it turned out! I can't believe how fast time is coming!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-9672828811116136012010-11-17T01:00:00.001-06:002010-11-17T01:00:08.526-06:00Craft Fair...A Success!!!Kelly and I finally had our craft fair! I think it was just in time! Our tables were so full, it looked like they might have collapsed from the weight of our products! We earned enough to cover our fun-time expenses from London last week--which was our goal! Thank you to all of you who came out! It was so much fun to create, share, and talk!<br />
<br />
Check out the Before...<br />

It was a simple treat holder, and I knew I just had to make some for the craft fair! (I know, the craft fair was two days ago...I will post tomorrow about how it went and what sold/didn't!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNrb5NFJhTI/AAAAAAAAAaE/6xwUcWNjZUg/s1600/052.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="157" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNrb5NFJhTI/AAAAAAAAAaE/6xwUcWNjZUg/s320/052.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
To make these, I took a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and cut it into four 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 sheets. I then scored each of these, on the 5 1/2 side, at 2 1/2 and 3. Then I wheeled one side in Versamark and embosses in silver. After that, decorate how you want (I sponged the edges in silver and put a greeting on them). Take the Word Window punch and punch through both sides of the pouch at one time to make "handles."<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNrb7mTJK5I/AAAAAAAAAaI/0ZuBPnMGpG0/s1600/053.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNrb7mTJK5I/AAAAAAAAAaI/0ZuBPnMGpG0/s320/053.JPG" width="175" /></a></div><br />
Using sticky strip, put a cello bag upside down on the back flap of the holder. (I cut about 1 1/2 inches off the top of the bag.) After that, put a few candies into the bag and fold over, so the bottom of the cello bag is even with the top. This holds the treats in. How clever! Then simply run ribbon through the top to hold closed!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-88811241120049144732010-11-15T01:00:00.027-06:002010-11-15T01:00:05.584-06:00I Love What I Do!<div style="text-align: center;">Would <u><b>you</b></u> like to do it too?</div><br />

I hope you enjoyed these swaps as much as I did!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-86028116660786427192010-11-13T01:00:00.001-06:002010-11-13T01:00:00.852-06:00SwapsI received some AMAZING swaps from the EU Convention last week! My friend, <a href="http://weekendstamper.blogspot.com/2010/11/european-convention-display-boards-and.html">Kelly</a>, posted most of them online. Here are two that I got that were very pretty! If you'd like to see more, let me know!<br />
<br />
The first comes from <a href="http://emma-daye.blogspot.com/">Emma</a>. I don't have this stamp set. That's probably my favorite part of swaps...but it's my checkbook's least favorite! :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp9gtGQT_I/AAAAAAAAAZI/00jD0wBJBKU/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp9gtGQT_I/AAAAAAAAAZI/00jD0wBJBKU/s320/009.JPG" width="317" /></a></div><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp9cc55RRI/AAAAAAAAAZE/0PhI7dkwZwo/s1600/008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a>This next card is gorgeous! I also don't have this stamp set. I just can't believe Barbara embossed every single one of her lovely swaps herself!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp9cc55RRI/AAAAAAAAAZE/0PhI7dkwZwo/s1600/008.JPG" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp9cc55RRI/AAAAAAAAAZE/0PhI7dkwZwo/s320/008.JPG" width="172" /></a></div>Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-61266879636413727732010-11-12T01:00:00.002-06:002010-11-12T01:00:02.954-06:00Stupid Hour Part IIEarlier this week, I showed you what happened late at night (early morning really) at the EU convention. Well, on Saturday night, we also got together and had a shoebox swap! Many of us brought crafts to share with each other.<br />
<br />
I didn't get to take a picture of all the things we made, but here are the ones I did get.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.kraftybiker.blogspot.com/">Sandra </a>brought this for us to make! I didn't do it exactly like the example. I love how every one came out differently, even though they were all the same color!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7ZxSi4CI/AAAAAAAAAYw/M8qub9e0JwI/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7ZxSi4CI/AAAAAAAAAYw/M8qub9e0JwI/s320/001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<a href="http://www.cornwallcraftystamper.blogspot.com/">Abi </a>brought a gift card holder for us to make. Inside there is a little pocket, perfect for holding a gift card!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7nZC3aoI/AAAAAAAAAY4/lGSn8q2WCq8/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7nZC3aoI/AAAAAAAAAY4/lGSn8q2WCq8/s320/004.JPG" width="290" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7gH-WGoI/AAAAAAAAAY0/610kWtjjxHA/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7gH-WGoI/AAAAAAAAAY0/610kWtjjxHA/s320/003.JPG" width="279" /></a></div><br />
Angie brought this gorgeous Circle Circus card for us to make. I love its simplicity! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7uBli2EI/AAAAAAAAAY8/MYnk1WYCSQI/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp7uBli2EI/AAAAAAAAAY8/MYnk1WYCSQI/s320/005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<a href="http://www.sparklyshinystuff.co.uk/">Emma </a>showed us how to make a 2-4-6-8 box. I had to fold it down in order to get it into my bag, and I love the way it looks now, like the original as well too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp72ctP4jI/AAAAAAAAAZA/RZ2jKo2VmAs/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp72ctP4jI/AAAAAAAAAZA/RZ2jKo2VmAs/s320/007.JPG" width="145" /></a></div><br />

I promise that there will be more Stampin' tomorrow!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp_d4ba1XI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/YFqvcWnKN8s/s1600/39641_459928087773_539447773_6095445_1550775_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNp_d4ba1XI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/YFqvcWnKN8s/s320/39641_459928087773_539447773_6095445_1550775_n.jpg" width="192" /></a></div><br />
Today I would like to talk about my wonderful Airman, James. He is a wonderful husband and father. He is our own personal hero! James joined the Air Force straight out of high school, and we married a year later. Being a military wife is trying sometimes, but it is very worth it!<br />
<br />

Thank you to all the men, women, and family members who sacrifice daily.<br />

This comes from us crafting until that hour in the night where everything just becomes silly and we laugh about every stupid little thing!<br />
<br />
Well, Kelly and I had two Stupid Hours hit us while at the European Convention! The first was on Friday. Kelly couldn't sleep and woke up around 2 am! After trying, and failing, to fall back asleep, we decided to craft! (What else is there, really!?!)<br />
<br />
In all our genius, we brought paper, scissors, a trimmer, DSP, every single marker from Stampin' Up!, and even rhinestones...we forgot stamps. Yes, we are silly!<br />
<br />
We still came up with some very cute cards! I had no idea how to do an iris card, so my card is this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNpPjk_V_UI/AAAAAAAAAYo/2OzMoZ6fjcw/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNpPjk_V_UI/AAAAAAAAAYo/2OzMoZ6fjcw/s320/002.JPG" width="255" /></a></div><br />
Mind you, I was wearing my old glasses instead of my contacts, and it was 3 am. I might not have followed the tutorial for an iris card, and it might not be the prettiest thing ever, but I still really like it!<br />
<br />
Kelly came up with this card:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNpPokaY3DI/AAAAAAAAAYs/c96Z73Ua_VE/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNpPokaY3DI/AAAAAAAAAYs/c96Z73Ua_VE/s320/006.JPG" width="316" /></a></div><br />
She simply used a sheet of DSP and accented Stampin' Up!'s already wonderful paper designs with rhinestones. A little faux sponging around the edges from a marker, and it's a very cute card!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-22721423675764628512010-11-09T01:00:00.000-06:002010-11-10T11:54:18.344-06:00Samples from Convention I'm very sorry that I couldn't keep everyone in the loop during convention! Internet was so very expensive in the hotel! So, now I have so much to catch up on!! Here are some of the examples from the boards at convention. Enjoy!<br />

Anna was complaining she was sick the night before, and I was completely stressed out (as usual.) By morning, Anna was throwing up, and James HAD to work, so I didn't know if I would be able to join Kelly at convention! I thought she might just have to go by herself. Also, I caught Anna's stomach bug as well.<br />
<br />
James was able to get home with just enough time, and he drove us to the Munich Airport. (We were supposed to take the train instead...first problem with the train on this trip!) We get there, and get to London just fine. Then we try to take another train...first we buy the tickets from a woman we cannot understand at all, and she doesn't write down how or where we need to transfer.<br />
<br />
Kelly and I figured that the trains would be like the German ones...yeah...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNfUN_ctyII/AAAAAAAAAXs/EzLUMPV5aNs/s1600/029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNfUN_ctyII/AAAAAAAAAXs/EzLUMPV5aNs/s320/029.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Then we get to the first stop (which we luckily asked someone if it was the right stop!) The platforms are packed and there are NO TRAINS!!! Come to find out, the subway people are having a strike, and there is also a problem with the lines so trains are super delayed! So, we take a black cab out to the hotel. Screw the train! :)<br />
<br />
We get to the hotel and start meeting/re-meeting our friends from last year. We have some food and I become the "designated walker" and spend some time in the hotel bar.<br />
<br />
Kelly then woke up at 2am and we started crafting. I don't know how we did it, but we brought ribbon, paper, scissors, adhesive, markers...and no stamps! So we were able to make two cards with no stamps, but it was REALLY hard to find inspiration. :)<br />
<br />
In the (real) morning we went to convention (yeah!!!) and had fun swapping cards, finding friends from last year, and buying things! That night (Friday) was the awards dinner for the EU demos. Well, with knowledge of how last year's dinner went, Kelly and I knew that we didn't want to sit through that again! So, we decided to go into London for a show!!!!<br />
<br />
Not wanting to deal with yet another train, we took a cab. Our hotel told us it would be about a 30-45 minute drive, so we left just over an hour before we were supposed to be there...yeah. London traffic is (almost) as bad as Honolulu traffic! It took 1 1/2 hours to drive 12 miles! We were late for our show. :( That meant that we had to stand at the back of the theater. However, it was still the best thing! Plus, I got to say, "Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament!"<br />
<br />
We saw "We Will Rock You." I HIGHLY recommend it!! I could go on forever talking about the show. Just take my word for it and go see it! I'm a huge Queen fan anyway, so I probably would have liked it even if it wasn't amazing. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNfUMTDRsgI/AAAAAAAAAXo/T4M1CNFPmWA/s1600/024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNfUMTDRsgI/AAAAAAAAAXo/T4M1CNFPmWA/s320/024.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
We then had to wait in the rain for an hour for the cab to come back, but the trip back was VERY fast!<br />
<br />
Saturday morning was more convention. We started with crafting, then we learned some more things, and then we got a free stamp set and a sneak preview of the HUGE sale coming up in January!!<br />
<br />
Then 19 of us crazy SU! demos went out to dinner and I had a carvery dinner, which I was told was a traditional British dinner. The night was very crazy, but we had a wonderful waitress who put up with us. However, I'm sure I saw all the people seated around us breathe a sigh of relief when we stood up to leave!<br />
<br />
Back at the hotel we commandeered the mezzanine and crafted for a long time. We made some very cute products!<br />
<br />
Sunday morning it was time to come back to Germany. We took a cab to the airport and there was an old car race. Old, as in the crank type! It was so cool. The pictures aren't very good because we were in the car, but it was so neat to see.<br />
<br />
Then, because we have to have more problems with the train this weekend, they changed our platform at the last minute for our train in Regensburg! We made it with just seconds to spare. At least we did make it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNfUKacu78I/AAAAAAAAAXk/bN5sqb-Qw-8/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNfUKacu78I/AAAAAAAAAXk/bN5sqb-Qw-8/s320/006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
It was a wonderful weekend. I am so glad that Stampin' Up! let us come again this year. I wish that we could join them next year at Disneyland!</div></div>Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-52285159307427118502010-11-05T02:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.347-06:00Very Thankful!Right now, I'm thoroughly enjoying the European Stampin' Up! Convention! However, I still have a craft I can show you that I made this week before I left.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNF7HlM2m7I/AAAAAAAAAXg/JTIXzUJN824/s1600/DSC02460.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="77" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TNF7HlM2m7I/AAAAAAAAAXg/JTIXzUJN824/s320/DSC02460.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I didn't come up with this idea myself. It was something I saw on Stampin' Connection. Stampin' Connection is just another perk of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! <a href="mailto:sarawiger@googlemail.com">Ask me</a> for more information on how you can get the perks for yourself!<br />
<br />
To make this, I took 12x12 cardstock and cut it into 4x12 inch pieces. I then scored my 3 strips every 3 inches. Fan-fold the pieces, and then glue the end of one strip to the beginning of another. For the word "Thankful" I cut off 6" from one strip to make 8 rectangles along the length of the strip.<br />
<br />
Then I cut out coordinating rectangles and put glue right along 3 of the edges. This made a pocket for my vanilla card stock tags to slip in and out of the pockets. A few punches, some stamps, and letters cut out from my Big Shot, and I now have a centerpiece for Thanksgiving, that can then be turned into a scrapbook for all your favorite Turkey Day memories!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-27253994952436638442010-11-04T02:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.349-06:00Off to London!Well, the day has finally come! <a href="http://weekendstamper.blogspot.com/">Kelly </a>and I are off to London to join the European demonstrators for their convention! If we have internet in the hotel, I will try to update this blog with pictures and crafts. I am so excited! I will leave you some pictures from last year's convention.<br />

She loves it so much. The girls are working on earning their petals. This week was the violet petal, "Be a sister to every girl scout." A great way to "be a sister" is to meet another troop, or to swap gifts with the another troop. My friend is a leader for a Cadet troop, so we made paper clip bookmarks for the troop!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMvAPUE6ATI/AAAAAAAAAW8/cv3XySndBD8/s1600/013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMvAPUE6ATI/AAAAAAAAAW8/cv3XySndBD8/s320/013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Luckily, my friend, Kelly, just received these HUGE paperclips in the mail! She came over to craft, and let me steal some of the clips for the girl scouts. A few punches and die cuts, and the girls had a project! The Daisies had fun making this craft, and enjoyed learning about being a sister.<br />

The flower on the right is for our Daisy chore chart we created for the girls.Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-38282363675562228192010-11-02T02:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.352-06:00Halloween Party! (Part 2)I know it's past Halloween, but I have to show you the other things I made for the party! You can see some of the other items <a href="http://sarawiger.blogspot.com/2010/10/halloween-party.html">here</a>. The first is an award I made for the costumes. OK. I didn't really make it. :) It was a template found online. Why recreate, when you can find wonderful things online? :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMu-S7UkrHI/AAAAAAAAAW4/o0KjFTQzUAo/s1600/011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMu-S7UkrHI/AAAAAAAAAW4/o0KjFTQzUAo/s320/011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Then I made special treats for the winners of the costume contest. I love the Top Note die! It is just perfect for simple treat bags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMu-Rrl76bI/AAAAAAAAAW0/6v1rmAeA9NM/s1600/010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMu-Rrl76bI/AAAAAAAAAW0/6v1rmAeA9NM/s320/010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The party was a complete success! The kids had so much fun! Please ask if you have more questions.Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-81174752146788752192010-11-01T02:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.354-06:00Take a NoteI had so much fun designing the<a href="http://sarawiger.blogspot.com/2010/10/sticky-note-holder.html"> sticky note holders</a>, I had to make more! These ones are rectangle coasters, covered in DSP, a stamped image, and the sticky notes. How easy is that? I love simple crafts that make a stunning impression!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMu940ahXsI/AAAAAAAAAWw/eJ75BmMu9uc/s1600/012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMu940ahXsI/AAAAAAAAAWw/eJ75BmMu9uc/s320/012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
If you love these as much as I do, make sure you come to the craft fair on the 13th!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-21387810061494001972010-10-31T02:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.356-06:00Bring on the Bracelets!With the success among the teenage crowd of our <a href="http://weekendstamper.blogspot.com/2010/10/at-risk-of-looking-crazy.html">bottlecap necklaces</a>, Kelly and I decided to make some more home-made jewelry for the upcoming craft fair. Remember, it's November 13th on Rose Barracks, building 134 (behind the fire station). I hope to see you there!<br />
<br />
Anyway, we went bracelet-crazy! My kids also had a lot of fun modeling the bracelets!<br />

These are pretty easy to make once you learn the technique. I will try to explain. If you still don't get it, I would be very happy to try to make a photo tutorial for you!<br />
<br />
Supplies:<br />
<br />
24" stretchy clear cording<br />
6 buttons (more if you are using smaller)<br />
Black beads<br />
Scissors<br />
<br />
Take your cording and find the middle point. Then take a button and put one end through a hole. Take the other end of the cording and put it through the same hole, going the other way. So, you have one end going from the top to the bottom, the other going from the bottom to the top.<br />
<br />
Tighten the cording down until it reaches approximately the middle of the 24" of cording.<br />
<br />
Now do the same thing again. Take the cording at the top of the button and put it down through the next hole, and the bottom string goes up through the next hole.<br />
<br />
All you have to do now is string some beads on both strings at the same time. Then add another button, until it wraps around your wrist.<br />
<br />
I then put the cording through the first button again, the same way, and tie off tight.<br />
<br />
Wear with pride!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-57371317055997022262010-10-30T01:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.358-06:00Sticky Note HolderThese holders were so easy! Take the scallop envelope die for your Big Shot and cut out two. Cut the side flaps to measure 1/2 inch. Glue the two together to make a box. This will hold one Post-It pad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMVG5Njd9pI/AAAAAAAAAWU/WpPYXaaOkiU/s1600/025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="175" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gocDm71zvwI/TMVG5Njd9pI/AAAAAAAAAWU/WpPYXaaOkiU/s320/025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Then I used a small piece of chipboard for the base so it stands up. Everything is made from retired paper, but it is easy to change things up with the current Stampin' Up! products!Sara Wigerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10430090090424075157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999969337366157974.post-75896292038553989112010-10-29T01:00:00.000-05:002010-11-10T11:54:18.360-06:00Flip-Flop ScrapbookAnother craft fair treat! <br />
For today I made a flip-flop scrapbook. I used up a retired Simply Scrappin' kit and some retired DSP. I love how it turned out! This is perfect to add into you next care package to send downrange, or to send to Grandma!<br />
